Being Bullied

I am considered what some may call a people person. I love talking to new people and quite frankly I find others amusing.

Despite that, I couldn't call myself a "people person" exactly. There has been plenty of times when I couldn't stand people. I have literally isolated myself from people because i couldn't tolerate others stupidity or their need for attention. The worst thing that some, not all, do is hurt people for their own amusements. I don't know what possesses people to do this but it’s absolutely horrible.

Earlier this year we had a group discussion in class on whether or not a bully should be convicted if the person they're bullying commits suicide because of their abuse.

At first I chose that they shouldn't be convicted. I mean yea they had played a part but the ones they bullied might of not had a good support system or were too afraid to stand up for themselves. But as the discussion continued, I came to realize that a very big portion of people have been bullied at one time or another. Me included, in elementary and all of my first year in middle school. I know first hand how terrible it feels. You feel insignificant, ugly, and stupid. At times you just want to hide under a rock until it’s all over. You don't want to get up in the morning knowing what the day holds for you.

In the end I chose to be undecided. Yes being bullied takes a toll on you and makes you feel like pickled donkey poop. Yes sometimes you don't have the courage to stand up for yourself. In the end you're going to have to find your voice and tell the punk to back off. I did it and I'm stronger then I used to be.

Go tell someone, anyone if you feel like you can't handle it on your own. If you ever feel like for a second that your life is in danger by your own hand or someone else’s, dude, speak up!! It’s ok. There is a huge possibility that your bully is bullying others and you're not only helping yourself but them too.

And for Pete sake people!! If you ever see someone else getting bullied or teased or whatever, stand up for them!!! If they're laughing along to what someone else said about them, even though it was absolutely horrible. Chances are that person's words did hurt but they're playing it off. Be a friend to those in need. Everyone needs a friend.

What Happened to Good T.V?

I've realized that one of my favorite things to rant about is how sucky T.V has become. I mean seriously, what happened? What has become of our beloved cartoons?
I used to be one of those kids who would feel a crushing weight of disappointment if I missed even one of my Saturday morning cartoons. I bonded with my brother watching "Static Shock", "Kirby Right Back at You" and "TMNT". You know, the one from the early 2000s? Not whatever they have on Nickelodeon now. I find it extremely saddening when I talk to kids who wouldn't dream of getting up at around eight in the morning just to watch cartoons.
Has anyone else realized that Disney stopped showing Cartoons? I know that Disney never showed just cartoons all the time, in the eighties they showed the Mickey Mouse Club (Whatever that was) and I loved watching Lizzie McGuire and That So Raven, but there were a lot more cartoons. My favorite was Kim Possible then it was Timon and Pumba then after that, maybe the Buzz on Maggie. Now there's Ant Farm and Life With Boys. I'm just glad they got rid of Good Luck Charlie. I don't really think that it was a show for little kids is all.
On Nickelodeon I remember watching Rugrats and As Told By Ginger with my mom. I loved just being able to spend time together watching our favorite shows. Of course there was also SpongeBob, but it’s the only show that actually still comes on. So at least there's that. Now there's Rabbids and God knows what else. Quite frankly after I saw Fanboy and Chumchum I gave up.
I would have to say that after Disney, Cartoon Network is the most disappointing. There was Teen Titans, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Courage the Cowardly Dog and many others. I could spend hours watching all of my favorite shows. Now whenever I get the urge to watch the Power Puff Girls or Jonny Bravo I have to go on Netflix.
The point is dear reader, T.V sucks major donkey and with an exception of a couple cartoons here and there like Adventure Time, the Penguins of Madagascar and some other third one... it's only going to get worse. Maybe one day they'll just say screw it and just do away with cartoons all together.
Now don't get me wrong, my more mature side loves shows like Once Upon a Time, the Vampire Diaries, Sherlock and My Strange Addiction. But like most people do, I miss what I took for granted. I miss cartoons dang it!!... So which ones do you miss?
